First Spies Hecker Colour Club golf event huge success
For the fourth year running, Premier Golf Entertainment Ltd has been charged with the task of running Spies Hecker UK's annual Colour Club Golf Tournament, a five-event challenge for 40 players, which involves our input at every stage of the game, including the pre- and post-event hospitality.
The first leg of the golf tournament took place on 1st May at Charthills golf Club, where the previously really bad weather luckily broke to provide an almost perfect day of light cloud to start, followed by sunshine for the remainder of the day (the old adage of white hand/red face was very much apparent!).
This stunning course, designed by golfing legend Nick Faldo, is challenging to say the least – 138 bunkers gave the perfect opportunity to run a Sandman competition, won, we are proud to say by Alex Miller. To be fair we also held a Grass Snake challenge, which Graham Furneaux won with no bunkers encountered. Other competitions we imposed included Longest Drive (Richard Howe) and Nearest the Pin (Paul Love).
Premier Golf's input on the day was vital, and ensured the smooth running and professional execution of a top quality golf day with excellent hospitality – just what is needed when clients want a golf day without the headache of the organisation.
We arranged a welcome pack on arrival, which included balls, tees, pencils, sweets, a Spies Hecker umbrella (luckily not required on the day!) and a special Charthills pouch. Guests enjoyed a light breakfast on arrival and a warm-up on the driving range, before the challenging 18-hole Stableford competition began. Halfway house refreshments were more than welcome – guests tucked into a light buffet, beers and coffee before continuing the round, and finishing off the event with a three course meal and presentation ceremony for all the proud winners.
Premier Golf also took care of all the golf event photography, video and leaderboard.
We look forward to a similar run of memorable and thoroughly enjoyable golf matches as the year progresses.
All the photographs taken on the day are now posted on the site under the gallery section.
